A 5-Minute Autumn Recovery Ritual

Signal safety to your nervous 

As the air cools and days grow shorter, your body benefits from small moments of restoration.
This simple ritual helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the body’s natural recovery mode.

You only need five minutes.

1. Warm Your Feet
Put on a pair of soft, warm socks.
Warmth at the extremities helps the body feel safe and supported.

2. Drop Your Shoulders
Sit comfortably and allow your shoulders to soften.
Let your jaw unclench and your face relax.

3. Take Five Slow Breaths
Inhale gently through your nose.
Exhale slowly through your mouth.
Longer exhales tell the nervous system it is safe to relax.

4. Sip Something Warm
A cup of herbal tea, warm lemon water, or broth helps the body settle and supports digestion.

5. Do Nothing for a Moment
Close your eyes.
Feel the warmth in your feet.
Allow the body to simply rest.
